A bit of body paint..

So, last week I did an amazing photo shoot with silver metallic body paint for my final development shoot for my Unit 3 Photography course. I came up with this idea when i was inspired by a USA photographer who mainly works with body paint - Dewayne Flowers. I found his work so fascinating and inspiring. Below is a link to his website, along with some photography that i just fell in love with...

So from there, i started to research what body paints i could use, how much i needed, i had to get permission from my teachers that i could use the body paint in our studio at college and i then booked the studio for 5 hours to make sure i had enough time to paint my model and take enough photographs.

I researched a lot into the use of body paint and how effective it is. While researching further i game across theses two photographers/companies that mainly work with body paint. Below are the websites i used for more inspiration and to help me with my research.

Moreover, i started to think where am i going to get this amazing body paint from? How much is it going to cost me? I am a student not a professional photographer with loads of money. So i began to research into finding the right body paint and at a good price.

^^ I found this amazing blog that explained what body paints were good, how you use it and mix the powder with the liquid. It also gives you indication of how much you need and where you can get this body paint from. - the only problem was it was in USA. But that didn't stop me I researched the makes of the body paint powder and mixing liquid and i came up with the below website! Amazing paint, good price and in the UK!!! - Perfect.

I brought 'LET'S PARTY' silver hair spray off eBay, 'GRAFTOBIAN' Metal Body Paint Kit Silver and 'MEHRON' silver face paint. - Just in case I ran out.

I did plan on painting the whole of my model's body in the body paint; however i was unable to do this in college due to health and safety reasons. However this did not stop me from doing the upper half of the body.

My model was Rebecca Jones, my best friend and stars in the majority of my photography work due to her amazing beauty and photogenic body/face. - She loves it!

Soo what you have all been waiting for, after trekking through snow for the first time in 2013 and almost 2 hours of painting my models half naked body, lots of spillages and finally getting into the studio to shoot my final shoot in RAW mode to get the best result, here are some of my best images. - Please see my Flickr page to see all photos. ENJOY...

Banishment of all creative subjects in school's/college

The English Baccalaureate (EBacc) threatens the very future of creative subjects - like Music, Art, Design & Technology, Drama and Dance.

By missing them off its list of core areas children must study, the Government is undermining their place at the heart of learning.

Your voice is vital to help change this.

Without them, our children will be denied the balanced education they need to grow and thrive. Without them, the skills that drive our creative economy will be lost.

Please sign the petition against having the banishment of all creative subjects in school's/college - like Music, Art, Design & Technology, Drama and Dance.

Little peak in to my life...

Soo, so far I haven't done very well at this whole blog thing. Every time I go to write on here I get detracted by how many people have looked at my blog or flickr or I am just so busy I don't have time.
But I am going to try and write on here every week from now on, to build I proper profile of myself as a photographer and what goes through my mind.

Christmas has been and gone... New Year’s has been and gone and now we have the WHOLE OF 2013 to look forward to.

I am hoping 2013 is going to be the year I really develop within my photography skills and knowledge.

So a little peak into my life over Christmas in a collection of photo's that i took on Christmas Day...

I really enjoyed this Christmas and as I was hoping I got my macro lens :) What did you all get?

Also in the New Year my boyfriend took me up to London for a few nights to shop and see Shrek the Musical. It was so lovely to go away with him again and here is a few photo's I managed to get through all the fun...

Hope you enjoyed looking through some of my photographs that i have recently took... Look forward to showing you more of my work.
